More than 600 parishioners from all of our services responded to our recent parish survey. Thank you! The results of this survey not only provide a snapshot of the strength of Saint John’s today, but provide important information about where our members think we should be headed.
Completing the parish survey and understanding the results is a critical step in the search process. In addition to sharing these results with our staff, the parish profile committee is using the survey results to inform their work.
The parish profile will give a road map to candidates who are interested in becoming our next dean. The survey offers candidates a deeper understanding of how we compare to other mainline Protestant churches across the nation and where our congregation hopes to direct our energy in the future. This will be helpful as candidates consider how we are similar to other churches they have experienced and what sets us apart.
Once the profile committee and the vestry complete and approve the parish profile, we will share that foundational document with the entire parish and begin an earnest search for the best candidates to become our next dean.
The results of the survey show our many strengths as a parish: from high overall engagement to a love of worship and music, from our three distinct services to an openness to support and grow new ministries. We also heard a desire to grow in our hospitality, to strengthen connections within and beyond our church community, and to deepen our commitment to serving our neighbors.
