Grow in Your Faith Community
At Saint John’s we have a shared hunger for meaning, learning, and connection.
Christian Formation includes journeying together through faith and doubt, engaging in scripture, sharing our stories, and exploring what it means to follow Christ in a world that needs the good news of God’s love. We seek to live as a true “Community in Christ,” transformed and empowered through our individual formation and our work together.
Opportunities for Christian Formation at St. John’s Cathedral
Cathedral Night
Cathedral Night is a beloved tradition at Saint John’s: an evening of worship, fellowship, and formation.
Sunday Forum
During the program year (September – May), we offer formation for all ages between the morning services. The Sunday Forum is adult formation with topics that range far and wide, from theology and scripture, to the ongoing legacies of racism, and to what it means to follow Jesus.
Catechumenate
The Catechumenate is a community of learning, conversation, and fellowship in a gathering as old as Christianity itself. It is the journey to baptism, confirmation, reception into the Episcopal Church, or the reaffirmation of baptismal vows.
Education for Ministry
The Education for Ministry (EfM) is a Christian formation program designed for lay people, founded by and administered through the School of Theology of Sewanee at The University of the South.
