Our Episcopal Identity

Our beliefs about God, meaning, and love are best experienced in the ancient liturgies we pray and sing each week.

Through Scripture, tradition, and reason, we seek to apply Jesus’ teachings to our daily lives.

Our Beliefs & Practices

We welcome all…

who seek to know and walk in the way of Jesus Christ. At Saint John’s, you’ll find a community of diverse people seeking to follow Christ in any number of beautiful ways. As disciples of the Risen Christ, we believe that nothing, not even death, separates us from God’s love. In response, we strive to love God with our whole heart, soul, and mind—and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

We offer prayers…

both aloud and in silence, seeking God’s guidance that we may walk in the way of love. Our prayers and liturgies are rooted in The Book of Common Prayer which connects us with believers across the world and throughout history.

We worship…

following the rhythms and seasons of the ancient church calendar. While each of our Sunday services is unique in its own way, all of them include Scripture, prayers, and the celebration of Holy Eucharist. Learn More (Link to Music & Worship)

We are rooted in…

the truth of Scripture, Tradition, and Reason. We recite Holy Scripture in all services and affirm the two foundational statements of faith—the Apostles’ Creed used at baptism and the Nicene Creed used at communion.

We strive to seek and serve…

Christ in all persons and strive for justice and peace among all people.

We ask questions.

The diversity within the body of Christ means we think differently—which is a gift.
