Music

For more than 150 years, music has helped shape the worship and life of Saint John’s Cathedral. Each week, hymns, Psalms, and anthems give voice to our prayers and help us encounter God through the beauty of music.

The Choirs

Our Cathedral Choir and Vicars Choral are renowned for their glorious musical offerings which provide beauty and a sense of transcendence to our Sunday morning worship. Our Vicars Choral provides the music for our Rite I service and is joined by the full Cathedral Choir for our Rite II services. Additionally, the Cathedral Choir leads our monthly Choral Evensong, diocesan services, and other special events throughout the year. The choir sings a wide variety of choral music church history.
