We welcome all into a relationship with God and with one another through our adult ministries.

At Saint John’s everything we do carries the intention of cultivating relationships with God and one another.

Participation in community through volunteering, socializing, and learning creates pathways to experience God’s love.

Adult Ministries by Life Stage

Young Adults

For young adults in their 20s and 30s, our young adult ministry seeks to navigate the realities of adulthood and the world through a community supported by shared faith and by one another.

About Our Young Adult Ministries

40s & 50s

Our shared life experiences at this stage in life bring us together to socialize and connect with one another. This group is intentionally social and spiritual in nature, offering spaces to reflect on faith in this stage of life, as well as enjoy the camaraderie of Saint John’s 40s & 50s community.

60+

Just as Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch,” we understand Jesus calls us to go deeper into our spiritual lives and deeper into community. The 60+ Group is a place to build community with people in similar life stages, and share the spiritual journey together.

Beloved (LGBTQIA+)

We are a LGBTQIA+ affirming church, and we welcome all at Saint John’s. Our Beloved group is a space for LGBTQIA+ members to deepen their spirituality in community and learn from one another.

More About Beloved

Adult Ministry Opportunities

We have many small groups that help our large community feel smaller. Attend Cathedral Night or join a contemplative prayer session. Serve at a Sunday service or on one of our many committees that contribute to life at Saint John’s.

If you’re looking to make more social connections, we also host quarterly Newcomers’ Gatherings. Contact Canon Paul Keene for more information at paul@sjcathedral.org.

Learn

Deepen Your Faith

If you’re looking to seek a deeper understanding of your faith and learn more about the Bible and Christianity, we offer opportunities for learning with classes Catechumenate, the Education for Ministry and more adult formation events.

Connect

Form Friendships with Other Christians

Join one of our small groups, attend our weekly events, or connect through music with our choirs and concerts.

Serve

Support Our Community

If you’re looking for ways to support people and causes in need in our community and beyond, Saint John’s offers multiple opportunities to give back locally and beyond. We welcome all who are interested in serving at Saint John’s or with members in our wider community, and we’re always happy to help you find the best fit.

Three members of Saint John’s Cathedral visit outdoors during a Pentecost coffee hour, with one holding a worship bulletin.

Find Where You Belong

We are happy to recommend the groups or ministries that best suit your needs and interests. Please email Canon Paul Keene at paul@sjcathedral.org if you need help finding a way to connect, or fill out a Welcome Card.
