Holy Week & Easter

Sunday, March 29 – Palm Sunday: Services at 8 am, 10:30 am*^✝ and 5 pm^✝
Family Formation Hour at 9:15 am in Saint Francis Chapel

The final Sunday of Lent, we remember our Lord’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem with palm fronds. Service will begin on the front steps for the 8 and 10:30 am services. The Wilderness service will be being in the back of the nave.

Monday, March 30 – Holy Monday: Service at 7 pm in Saint Martin’s Chapel

The beginning of Holy Week, a simple service offering a brief sermon on the scripture for the day followed by Holy Eucharist.

Tuesday, March 31 – Holy Tuesday: Service at 7 pm in Saint Martin’s Chapel

A simple service offering a brief sermon and Holy Eucharist.

Wednesday, April 1 – Holy Wednesday: Tenebrae at 7 pm*^✝

With contrasts in light and liturgy, this moving service ends with all departing by the light of a single candle, signifying the light of Christ and the hope of resurrection. 

Thursday, April 2 – Maundy Thursday: Service at 7 pm*^✝

Inspired by the actions of Christ’s Last Supper, this service includes foot washing and Holy Eucharist. The service concludes when the altar is striped, symbolizing the abandonment of our Lord. Following the service until 8 am the next day, you are invited to spend an hour in vigil at the Altar of Repose. Sign up here.

Friday, April 3 – Good Friday: Services at 12 pm (without Holy Eucharist) and 7 pm*^✝ (with Holy Eucharist).

A somber and solemn service that invites reflection on the crucifixion through liturgy and Holy Eucharist. 

Saturday, April 4 – The Great Vigil of Easter: Service at 7 pm on the front steps.*^✝

This service begins with a fire on All Souls’ Walk representing the victory of light and life over death and darkness. In this same spirit, we will be joined by the Bishop for baptisms, confirmations, and receptions into the Episcopal Church.

We are excited to welcome The Rev. Dr. Christoph Keller who will preach all services on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.

Christoph is an Episcopal priest and theologian, most recently serving as Dean of Trinity Cathedral in Little Rock. He graduated from Amherst College and earned his Master’s of Divinity from Episcopal Divinity School. He holds a Doctor of Theology (Th.D.) in Anglican Studies from General Theological Seminary. His field was systematic theology, with a focus on theology and science. His dissertation, Darwin’s Science in Chalcedonian Imagination, explores, affirms, and explains the deep compatibility between Christian faith and evolution. He is an honorary Canon of the Diocese of Arkansas.

Easter Egg Hunt on the West Lawn at 10:15 am

A beautiful celebration of Christ’s resurrection.

The morning services will feature the Cathedral Choir accompanied by brass instruments. ASL interpretation will be available at the 11 am service.

Parking is available in our main lots off of Washington St. and Clarkson St. as well as at Morey Middle School. Additional parking is available in the neighborhood around the cathedral – please reference our parking map here.

As is our tradition at the cathedral, all are welcome to give a donation for Easter flowers in memory of or thanksgiving for a loved one. We will list the names in the Easter Sunday service leaflets.
