Dean’s Forum with Dr. Celine Lillie

Advent is a season of anticipation and waiting, but we often rush through these places of threshold and in-betweenness in our desire to “get somewhere” – or sometimes because of the uncertainty that these gaps engender. In the New Testament and other early Christian literature, it is women who occupy these gaps: Mary and Elizabeth in pregnancy; Mary Magdalene and the other women at the empty tomb; the woman with the flow of blood or the Syrophoenician woman awaiting healing; Mary and Martha whose home is a respite for the weary Jesus. Dr. Celene Lillie in an in-person conversation with Dean Richard will explore the stories of these women, as well as our own, in the midst of this season of waiting.
