Cathedral Night

Cathedral Night is a beloved tradition at Saint John’s: an evening of worship, fellowship, and formation. This fall Cathedral Night returns after a long pandemic hiatus from September 21 through October 26.

5:30 pm – Holy Eucharist in Saint Martin’s Chapel
6 pm – Dinner in Dagwell Hall
7 pm – Cathedral Night Conversation and Small Group Formation

We will conclude this series of Cathedral Night on November 2 with a shared meal and a Grief Forum, followed by the All Souls’ Requiem. Cathedral Night offers us an opportunity to connect with one another and share important steps in our lives of faith.

Cathedral Night Conversations

The Fruit of the Spirit with Dean Richard
Wednesdays during Cathedral Night: September 21 through October 26
7 pm in Dagwell Hall

This conversation series will focus on the Holy Spirit and cover in-depth these verses: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things” (Galatians 5:22-23). Each class will focus on one or two of these fruits or virtues and will include teaching from Dean Richard plus conversation and short prayers. This passage is so important because Paul wants us to experience the Holy Spirit in our daily lives and how we make it through life’s ups and downs. In other words, the Holy Spirit here is not associated with visions, dreams, or dramatic revelations. Here, the Holy Spirit is associated with the ordinary. You might say it’s Paul’s way of helping us make the ordinary extraordinary or holy. Contact Dean Richard at for more information. All are welcome.

Cathedral Night Dinner

This fall, there will be a suggested donation for dinner as we financially sustain this beloved tradition. You will be able to donate via QR code with a credit card or with cash; this donation is not a requirement for dining, but rather an intention to bring awareness to the logistical and financial requirements of Cathedral Night. Donations beyond the suggested amount are absolutely welcome to help make these dinners accessible for everyone.

Suggested donation: $3 per child, $6 per adult, with a cap of $18 per family.
