Cathedral Night

Cathedral Night is a beloved tradition at Saint John’s: an evening of worship, fellowship, and formation. These weekly dinners offer opportunities to connect with one another and share important steps in our lives of faith.

Cathedral Night is held on Wednesdays beginning September 20 through October 25.

5:30 pm – Holy Eucharist in Saint Martin’s Chapel
6 pm – Dinner in Dagwell Hall
7 pmSmall Group Formation & Catechumenate

Cathedral Night Groups

Classes and small group discussions are offered by the cathedral clergy and immediately follow our fellowship dinners. Past topics have included prayer practices, contemplation, and the fruits of the Spirit.

This Fall, we’re excited to announce new formation small groups: SAGES, which stands for Spiritual Awareness and Growth in Everyday Situations. These are groups intended to give us space to explore our spiritual journeys in our daily lives. We can offer one another profound support as we engage with spiritual practices, see our faith in action, and strive to be true to our faith in everyday situations.

Beginning this fall groups will read Looking for God in the Messy Places as a catalyst for conversation. It is not necessary to read at the same pace, or even read at all. The book is a helpful tool in opening dialogue.

There will be 4 SAGES groups offered at Cathedral Night: SAGES for Men, SAGES for Women, SAGES for Beloved (LGBTQI+), and SAGES for 20s and 30s.

Cathedral Night Dinner

Sharing meals together is a joyful time to connect and build relationships. We delight in cooking for one another, serving, and caring for our shared space (by washing the dishes together). Jesus showed us that love abounds in community and shared meals reminds us of Jesus’ own table ethic of love.

There is a suggested donation for dinner as we financially sustain this beloved tradition. You can donate in-person with cash or via QR code with a credit card. You can also donate online here. This donation is not a requirement for dining, but rather an intention to bring awareness to the logistical and financial requirements of Cathedral Night. Your generous support enables us to make these dinners accessible for everyone and further enrich the life of our parish. Suggested donations are $3 per child, $6 per adult, with a cap of $18 per family.

You can also donate the gift of your time and skills by volunteering with the Cathedral Cooks. Every week, the Cooks plan, prepare and clean up after Cathedral Night dinners. No culinary experience is necessary. If you are interested in volunteering with the Cathedral Cooks, contact Reverend Amy at .
