Saint John's Cathedral, through the work of the Urban and Social Concerns Commission, provides grants to local social service agencies. Because of this funding process members of Saint John's Cathedral have formed valuable and vibrant relationships with many social service agencies and the people they serve throughout the Denver area.

Adam's Camp provides intensive, personalized and integrated therapeutic programs for children with special needs and their families as well as recreational programs for youth and young adults with moderate developmental disabilities.

Caring Association for Native Americans (CANA)

CANA helps Native Americans who come to the Denver area from reservations or other cities when referred for health care. The agency assists patients in contacting medical providers, finding temporary housing for visiting relatives, and providing prayer and counseling.

Centro Bienestar San Jose (Center for Well-being)

The center assists the "El Pueblo" Latino community. Saint John's grant helps continue the Latina Leadership Program for Professional Latinas, assisting highly educated professional women who are fleeing political and economic instability in their own countries.

CHARG Resource Center

CHARG's mission is to improve the quality of life for mentally ill persons through advocacy, peer support and recreation. Clients have access to dental and eye care, psychiatric help, counseling and recreational therapy.

Denver Inner City Parish serves the needs of low-income residents of West Denver, a primarily Hispanic/Latino community. Saint John's grant supports La Academia School for at-risk Latino youth and Project ReNew, a program to help former inmates reintegrate successfully into the West Denver community.

Project PAVE

Project PAVE works to break the cycle of relationship violence by providing education and counseling for youth that promotes understanding of and healing from emotional, physical and sexual violence. Services include a K-12 violence prevention curriculum.

32nd Avenue Jubilee Center

Located in Northwest Denver, the 32nd Avenue Jubilee Center provides stabilizing and enriching services to the working poor and elderly of this community including an after school program, English as a Second Language classes for adults, and food bank services. A health care initiative is also underway to provide mental and physical health care.

Work Options for Women

Work Options for Women provides intensive job training in the food service industry to low-income women who are mandated by welfare reform to find employment but may suffer from learning disabilities, domestic violence and lack of resources. A 16-week program offers life skills, daily personal support, case management, job placement and follow-up services.
